Autoconsommation

On y voit clairement :

Autoconsommation

Quelle batterie virtuelle choisir ?

1- Consulter votre facture d’électricité ;

  • Vous avez installé de nouveaux équipements électriques (chauffage, climatisation, borne de recharge, etc.) ;
  • Vous avez déménagé dans un logement avec des besoins différents ;

Comment modifier votre puissance ?

All pigeons? When the French want to take back control of their electricity bills. An opinionWay survey* for mylight150

To analyze the way French people look at their electricity consumption and energy bills, as well as their willingness to rely more or not on electricity production in the future, mylight150 had a survey conducted by OpinionWay*, the results of which it is unveiling today:

56% French people feel like pigeons when it comes to their electricity bill.

67% of respondents realize that their uses consume more and more
of electricity.

50% would like to produce their own electricity but don't know where to start.

77% of the French want to produce their own solar electricity to resume the
control their energy bill...

... and 66% want to stop being dependent on factors that they can't control.

73% of French people say that their energy bill is too expensive

After an increase in electricity prices of more than 40% in two years, the amount of the energy bill is more than ever a matter of concern for the French. 73% of them feel that they pay too much for energy in their homes, of which more than 1/3 consider this amount plenty overpriced (34%).

All categories of the population overwhelmingly agree that they pay too much for their energy bills., regardless of the level of income (71% among the poorest vs. 73% among the most affluent1), the type of housing (74% among those living in houses vs. 72% for those in apartments), or even their housing occupancy status (73% among owners and renters).
Some profiles express their dismay even more blatantly. : middle age groups (77% among 35-49 year olds and 79% among 50-64 year olds) as well as people living in the least dense residential areas (78% in rural municipalities).

The impression of being taken for pigeons

Faced with energy bills that they consider too high, a majority of French people (56%) do not mince words and admit to feeling taken for pigeons, and “disappointed” upon reading the latter, faced with the amounts requested. The majority (67%) of the youngest, 25-34 year olds, show this discontent, in the group of young people who are active and living independently. And also French people living in rural areas (64%).

When asked who they would use first and foremost to optimize their energy consumption, we can see that the French only trust themselves (55%), both men and women. The older the French are, the more they tend to rely on their own expertise to optimize their energy consumption. They are 71% among those aged 65 and over compared to 31% of 18-24 year olds and 48% of 35-49 year olds.

And they are reluctant to turn to outside sources of information.. Thus, only 17% say that they would use their energy supplier first and 11% their loved ones... just as much as artificial intelligence (11%)!
Quite logically, 18-24 year olds plan to rely more on their loved ones (24%) or on artificial intelligence resources (18%) than their elders.

The transition to all-electric, a current topic...

For 49% of French people, taking into account the current climate and political contexts, going all-electric on a personal basis (car, heat pump, water heater, etc.) is a current topic.

Some populations feel this need for a transition more. towards all-electric power: these include men (55%), 18-24 year olds (59%) and inhabitants of large cities (53% among inhabitants of agglomerations of 100,000 inhabitants and over, including Paris).

The French are lucid about the omnipresence of this energy in their current lives. 67% of French people realize that they consume more and more electricity, an even more frequent finding among those under 35 (76%).

The idea of producing and consuming your own electricity using solar energy is appealing: nearly one French person out of two (44%) says that he has already considered self-consumption via solar panels to reduce his energy bill, while the cap for the number of houses equipped with solar panels has just exceeded one million.

People aged 18-24 and 35-49 say more often than average that they have considered installing solar panels (54%), as do homeowners, whose infrastructures are more suitable to accommodate them (55%)... Even though more than a quarter of those living in an apartment indicate that they have also already imagined it, even though the exercise is significantly more complicated (28%).

... with a few more obstacles to implementation.

50% of French people
would like to produce their own electricity but do not know where to start, and among them, 72% of 18-24 year olds, and 61% of 35-49 year olds.

69% of French people feel that it is too complicated to produce their own electricity. Also, 63% feel that their lifestyle does not allow it. Parisians in the first place (75%), who mainly live in apartments.

Regaining control of their energy bills

However, they say it themselves, installing solar panels would allow them to reduce the amount of their energy expenses... and to no longer feel like pigeons!

When asked what are the reasons, above all, why they might consider producing their own electricity using solar energy:

- 77% French respondents answer that it is because they want to take back control of their energy bills : 35-49 year olds first (80%) and 25-34 year olds second (79%).

- 66% want to stop being dependent on factors they don't control (politics, laws,
wars, climate...) the vast majority of people aged 50-64 (71%)

- 41% say that for them it is the future, and a profitable investment over time, at 50%

For Ondine and Virgile Suavet; With the replacement of oil and gas by electricity in our lives, which will continue to increase in the next 10 years (heat pump, electric car, etc.), French electricity bills will follow the same trend. Solar self-consumption is an excellent solution for French people to no longer feel like pigeons, and to give them power over their electricity bill by reducing it. But this survey shows us that there is real educational work to be done to show French people how to do it and what savings they can make!
Today, with solar panels, a virtual battery that returns to individuals for €0 and at any time the energy produced and not consumed, mylight150 makes French people save more than 50% for at least 30 years.

*A quantitative study conducted online by the OpinionWay Institute for mylight150 on October 9 and 10, 2024, with a swatch of 1067 people, representative of The French population aged 18 and over. The sample was constituted according to the quota method, based on the criteria of sex, age, socio-professional category, agglomeration category and region of residence criteria. The interviews were conducted by online self-administered questionnaire on the CAWI system (Computer Assisted Web Interview). OpinionWay carried out this survey using the procedures and rules of the ISO 20252 standard.

How does your mySmartBattery virtual battery work?

Les solar panels produce energy when they catch the sun's rays. They therefore have optimal production during the day. Unfortunately, that's often the time when you can't take advantage of it. So how can you store the energy produced by your solar panels and not waste it? Thanks to a virtual battery. You then produce and optimize your own carbon-free energy.

MySmartBattery is a virtual battery that allows you to adapt your storage needs according to your consumption at a completely transparent price. It is a dematerialized way to store your solar energy.

MySmartBattery stores the solar surplus produced by your photovoltaic panels. When you need it, MySmartBattery re-uses your excess electricity free of charge to allow you to take advantage of your electrical devices. You can achieve up to 100% self-consumption.

Why optimize and maximize your energy production ? You reuse your excess energy to lower your electricity bill, no more waste. You finally consume all the electricity you produce. A mySmartBattery virtual battery guarantees you green energy all year round and savings from the first bill.

Excess energy management

You store your excess energy and mylight150 returns it to you free of charge as soon as you need it. 1 kWh produced = 1 kWh returned. With the virtual battery. Your energy adapts to your needs and not to prices that change every quarter. Result: a controlled bill and a Energy produced for you and always 100% green.

When you subscribe to mySmartBattery, you use electrical appliances (heating, water heater, etc.) at home using energy generated by yourself or supplied by mylight150.

In fact, you use as soon as you need it, the energy produced by your photovoltaic panels and stored in your cloud battery.

If you need more energy, mylight150 provides green energy in addition to the virtual electricity storage service. We guarantee that this energy is of renewable origin.

Use of stored energy

The mylight150 virtual battery, mySmartBattery, is based on monitoring your installation in real time andoptimizing your self-consumption. You directly self-consume the energy produced by your photovoltaic installation. It is 100% green and local energy.

When you produce more than you consume directly (when the weather is very nice or when you are not at home using electricity for example), MySmartBattery works on the same principle as a physical battery. Your excess production is recorded and injected directly into your battery within the limits of its capacity.

In the evening, when your solar installation no longer produces, but you consume, MySmartBattery allows you to recover this green energy and consume it at a later date. You then use this stored energy to operate your electrical devices.

What are the benefits? You no longer produce at a loss! Each kWh produced is returned to you free of charge. In concrete terms, this means real savings for you (up to - 80% on your bill), responsible consumption with 100% green energy, and autonomy that can be total.

Advantages of mySmartBattery VS EDF OA (Obligation to buy)

Store your excess electricity on a virtual battery like MySmartBattery or resell it by subscribing to an EDF OA (Obligation to Purchase) offer? We help you choose.

1- Immediate savings: with MySmartBattery from the first month, your energy bill falls when you have to wait a year to get your first savings with EDF OA.

2- Savings that continue over time: 1 kWh produced by your installation = 1 stored kWh that you can consume, regardless of market rates. The more the price of electricity increases, the more money you save. EDF buys back €0.1301 for each stored kWh in excess - or 48% of the regulated rate during peak hours in summer 2024. The more the price per kWh of electricity increases, the less you earn.

3- No more taxes: since you are not reselling your excess energy, it cannot be considered taxable income. With EDF OA, if you have a solar installation greater than 3kWc, your income from the sale of your surplus will be taxable.

4- No commitment: you can cancel your mylight150 contract whenever you want. With EDF OA, you are committed to 20 years.

And why not a physical battery?

One Physical battery represents a certain purchase cost (600 to 1000€ per kWh) and takes up space. It is also limited in terms of storage.

Unlike a physical battery, a virtual battery is safer, more durable, and more cost effective than a physical battery. It has an unlimited lifespan. MySmartBattery allows you to save a significant amount of space. It has no loss of performance and requires no maintenance. Its cost is €15 per month for 100kWh.

How does the mylight150 app work with mySmartBattery?

A clear, simple and effective application that allows you to monitor your consumption in real time. At a glance, you have access to your solar production and the charge level of your battery.

You can easily see the savings generated by your solar panels and your mylight150 virtual battery. Intuitive, the user interface is readable. You can set up personalized alerts to maximize your energy efficiency.

Solar energy is an essential solution for a sustainable future. But how exactly does a photovoltaic panel work? France is on the rise on the solar energy front, with an impressive production of 13.6 TWh in 2020 and An increase of 11.1% compared to the previous year. To maximize energy independence, photovoltaic panels, combined with new technologies on the market, such as virtual batteries, play a key role in sustainable energy management, making each installation more autonomous and efficient. Exploring the potential of this energy and understanding how it works is now essential.

In this article, we explain to you in concrete terms how a photovoltaic panel works!

Definition and Operation of a Photovoltaic Panel

Definition, Components and Operation of a Photovoltaic Cell

A photovoltaic solar panel is an assembly of Photovoltaic cells encapsulated between protective layers of glass, Like our bifacial biverre modules, the most resistant on the market. At the heart of each cell is the Silicon, a material Semiconductor derived from sand that excels in converting sunlight into electricity. This characteristic is crucial for the operation of a photovoltaic cell. Silicon not only allows for the efficient capture of solar energy but also ensures that this energy is converted into a clean, renewable form of electricity, powering everything from homes to industries.

The characteristics of a photovoltaic panel:

  • Efficiency: between 20 and 25% depending on cell technology -> Heterojunction, N type, P type, PERC
  • Soft cells
  • Rather Sensitive to Shading
  • High temperature coefficient + -0.5%

The Different Types of Solar Panels

Solar panels come in several types, each adapted to specific needs:

  • Bi-glass : By using glass on both sides, these panels offer better protection and extended lifespan, while maintaining optimal energy efficiency even under extreme weather conditions.
  • Bi-facial : Thanks to their ability to capture light from both sides, these panels produce more energy, especially in environments where light is reflected from surfaces such as snow.
  • Black Crystal full black : With their all-black aesthetic, these panels are not only stylish; they also absorb maximum sunlight, which optimizes their performance.
  • Heterojunction : Heterojunction technology combines crystalline and amorphous silicon to capture more light, improving performance even on an overcast day.

At mylight150, we offer each of these solutions. Do Not Wait Any Longer For Discover our products !

Operation of a Solar/Photovoltaic Panel

The Conversion of Solar Energy into Electricity

The operation of a photovoltaic panel involves the capture of photons by solar cells, which excite electrons and generate electrical flow. This process, discovered by Edmond Becquerel in 1839, is known as the photovoltaic effect. This fundamental phenomenon allows solar panels to efficiently convert solar energy into electricity.

The Electricity Generation Cycle

After the panels generate direct current (DC), it is converted into alternating current (AC) that can be used by households and businesses using an inverter. This component is vital in the operation of the solar panel because it allows the integration of solar energy into the electrical network.

Installation and Maintenance of Photovoltaic Solar Panels

Installation steps

The installation of solar panels requires theThe expertise of professionals to ensure optimal functioning of your solar panels. It starts with a careful assessment of the site, where experts determine the optimal orientation and angle of the panels to capture the maximum amount of sunlight. This phase is followed by the installation of sturdy supports and the secure attachment of the panels, whether on roofs or on ground structures. Do you have a project in mind? Do Your Simulation for Free !

Maintenance and Lifespan

Although solar panels require little maintenance, regular cleaning is essential to maintain their maximum efficiency. The lifespan of these panels can be up to 30 years, but their performance may decrease slightly over time. Thus, to ensure better profitability of the installation, mylight150 offers panel technology that is sustainable and 30-year product and performance guarantees.

Advantages and limitations of the operation of photovoltaic solar panels

What are the advantages of solar?

Les Photovoltaic Solar Panels offers several significant advantages:

  • Renewable and clean energy: They transform sunlight, an abundant and free resource, into electricity, thus helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Reduction in electricity bills: Once installed, solar panels can significantly reduce energy costs.
  • Energy independence: Solar panels allow users to produce their own energy - especially with a Virtual Battery - reducing dependence on traditional suppliers and fluctuations in energy prices.

Limits and Misconceptions About Solar Panels

However, solar panels also have some limitations:

  • Relatively high initial cost: The initial investment for purchase and installation can be substantial, although this can be largely mitigated by various grants and tax credits. The addition of a virtual battery also improves the amortization of the investment and reduces electricity bills, making the system more profitable in the long run.
  • Dependence on weather conditions: The production of solar panels is directly affected by weather conditions (high heat or gray weather). However, energy storage solutions can help regulate supply and new panel technologies, such as Heterojunction, allow better energy production even when it is hot or even on an overcast day.
  • Need for adequate space for installation: A sufficient and well-oriented surface is essential to maximize the efficiency of solar panels. However, in dense urban areas or on buildings with small or unsuitable roofs, the space available for installation is naturally limited. This highlights the importance of choosing the best panels on the market, capable of maximizing energy production in any weather, to optimize the use of every square meter available.

Toward a Solar Future

Photovoltaic panels are essential for Energy Transition. Their ability to convert sunlight into electricity significantly contributes to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Technological advances, such as cells at Heterojunction And the Bi-Glass Technology, maximize the capture of solar energy, extend the life of installations, and reduce production and installation costs.

Photovoltaics play a crucial role in the fight against climate change, supporting local communities and creating jobs in renewable energies. This technology not only contributes to the economy and environmental protection, but it is also recognized for its sustainability and recycling potential, helping to achieve the goal of net zero CO2 emissions by 2050.

Photovoltaics, more than energy, a vision for the future

Again, the RTE Electricity Transport Network Publish a Rich Report In lessons about our energy future. Chapter 7 of its 2023 forecast report is devoted to greenhouse gas emissions. Renewable Electricity at the Heart of Our Climate Goals

According to RTE, the expansion of renewables is crucial to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the energy sector. By integrating low-carbon solutions, we are taking an essential step towards achieving our climate ambitions.

The reduction of European emissions thanks to photovoltaics

The RTE report illustrates how the increased adoption of photovoltaics can significantly reduce CO2 emissions from the electrical system, not only in France but also across Europe. For example, in France, the increase in photovoltaic installations has the potential to drastically reduce the use of fossil fuels:

“The challenge for France is therefore not to decarbonize its electricity mix but to make it grow to support new electrical uses that are called to replace fossil fuels. The development of low-carbon production will mainly aim to enable the electrification of uses and their decarbonization: an increase in low-carbon production by 80 TWh to support the electrification of uses will make it possible to avoid the emission of 50 MtCO2eq, in substitution for fossil fuels.”

Economic and ecological advantages of photovoltaics

Investing in photovoltaics does not only offer environmental benefits, but also economic ones. By exporting photovoltaic electricity to our European neighbors, we not only support our own economic growth but also help other nations to reduce their dependence on fossil fuels.

An electrified and sustainable future

RTE's findings reaffirm our belief that photovoltaic energy is not only necessary to meet growing demand but is also essential for an environmentally friendly energy transition. As actors in this transformation, we are proud to contribute to this movement towards a clean and prosperous energy future.

Take better control of your solar energy: local control vs cloud

Real-time energy management has become essential to maximize the efficiency of solar panels. Imagine being able to monitor and optimize your energy consumption at any time, whether you are at home or on the go. Mylight150 explores the pros and cons of local and cloud tracking systems and helps you understand the importance of real-time monitoring for your solar electricity consumption.

Solar panels: the advantages of a locally controlled system

Local Control Means That Your Solar Panels Are directly connected to your inverter, which converts solar energy into usable electricity.

Thanks to the speed of data transmission and the absence of the need to send them remotely, this system offers a Ultra-Fast Reaction Time for loads and discharges. It is also very reliable since it is not dependent on an internet connection. This immediacy allows optimal management of the energy produced and consumed.

The advantages of a cloud control system

In contrast, the Cloud Control Implies that your solar system data is sent to a Remote server via the internet. The main benefit of cloud control is the ability to monitor and manage your system remotely, often via an app on your smartphone.

However, this solution depends on the Reliability of your internet connection. In the event of a power outage, for example at night or while on vacation, the connection is interrupted and you temporarily lose access to your data and to the management of your solar system.

The Importance of Real-Time Management: The Example of the Linky Counter

When a photovoltaic power plant is installed, a Linky Counter Must also be put in place. This meter communicates with external concentrators, then sends data via 2G or 3G to Enedis servers.

The data is then transferred to electricity suppliers via the cloud. Although Linky reports the data in real time, you don't have access to it until 24 hours later, unless you're using a specific device.

The mySmartBattery solution from mylight150

Mylight150 uses the PLC technology Which transmits data via existing electrical cables. This makes it possible to overcome numerous constraints such as physical obstacles that can block the Bluetooth signal (thick walls, etc.).

And to prevent the risk of connection losses, mylight150 provides a 2G or 3G router, included in the subscription, guaranteeing a continuous connection even when the internet connection is poor.

Why opt for real-time consumption monitoring?
